OVERVIEW
How do Online Students Socialize?
Socialization is an essential part of any education experience, helping students gain confidence, foster empathy, and develop social skills that they will need long into adulthood. Connecting with other students at school and in the local community is a big part of what makes TEC Connections Academy so enriching. Children from all over the state will love all the opportunities they have to make new friends and explore their passions.
LiveLesson sessions are held each day, enabling students within the same grade or class to collaborate and socialize with fellow students throughout the week.
In addition to meeting with their fellow students in LiveLesson® sessions and collaborating with them on school projects, your child can join many other extracurricular activities, including virtual clubs and activities designed to connect with their peers while pursuing their interests, as well as optional, in-person field trips.
Many students also find that our flexible schedule gives them the opportunity to play sports, pursue art, volunteer or do anything else they enjoy in their community.
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
Online Extracurriculars for K-12 Students
Our online clubs and activities are designed to help your student make connections while pursuing their interests. Whether your student is interested in journalism or science, art or chess, or something else entirely, our online clubs empower students to gain social confidence and compete in contests at local, state, and national levels. In addition, many of our high school students find that participating in clubs is a great way to round out their extracurriculars and showcase their interest and passions on their college applications.

ATHLETICS
Can Online Students Play Sports?
TECCA’s program offers several options for students to play sports, including opportunities to:
Play on their home school district teams by sending a request to their local school district superintendent
Participate on one of TECCA’s sports teams, which currently include track and cross country
Join a local recreation or club sports teams
In addition, our schools participate in Connections Esports, which brings together several Connections Academy Esports Clubs. Depending on grade level, your middle or high school student can participate in competitions by playing Rocket League or Valorant. In 2022, we were ranked No. #1 nationally in Rocket League!
FIELD TRIPS
Exploring the World Together
There is so much to see and do all over Massachusetts. Our voluntary field trips give your child a chance to experience these amazing places firsthand. From historical sites to zoos, museums, the great outdoors and so much more, your child can go on adventures alongside their fellow students, exploring, learning and having fun together on school trips in Massachusetts.
GRADUATION
Celebrating With Families
Like their peers at other schools, Connections Academy students have the opportunity to experience key high school milestones, including prom and graduation. High school graduation is a big deal and at TEC Connections Academy, we give your child's graduation all the pomp and circumstance it deserves.
When your child graduates from our online high school in Massachusetts, they’ll gather with you and the rest of your family for a graduation ceremony. Caps and gowns and diplomas are all part of the day, giving your child the recognition they’ve earned before they move on to their next adventure, prepared to take on the world.
